Welcome to the Bozeman Ice Festival


The Bozeman Ice Festival is reaching new heights. After more than a decade of running two of the best grassroots ice festivals in the country, Barrel Mountaineering and Northern Lights Trading Company have joined forces with First Ascent Press and Montana Alpine Guides to create one single ice climbing event to kick off the Montana Ice Climbing Season

Bozeman Ice Festival 2007:


  • Daily: Product demonstration and new product marketing
  • Nightly: Slide shows and vendor demo tables at the Baxter Hotel, downtown Bozeman

    The Bozeman Ice Festival's mission is to promote the sport of ice climbing to people of all ages and abilities, to educate ice climbers about climbing skills and safe climbing techniques, and introduce climbers to cutting edge ice climbing clothing and equipment.


    Bozeman Ice Climbing Festival:
    Get ice climbing instruction and learn tricks and techniques from many of the top ice climbers in the world including Guy Lacelle, and Sean Issac from Arc'teryx, Jack Roberts from Petzl-Charlet America, Kitty Calhoun from Patagonia, Dean Lords from Mammut, Zoe Hart from Grivel North America, Jack Tackle from Black Diamond, Joe Josephson from First Ascent Press, Whit Magro, Amy Bullard and Juan Villagra from Montana Alpine Guides/Andes Mountain Guides. Plus many more still to come.

    Women's Clinic:
    Whether you are a novice climber, or leading WI 4, you will have the chance to learn ice climbing techniques, master the skills of movement on vertical ice, test your limits on mixed routs, and learn tricks and techniques from top woman climbers.
